Best Local; Top 10 in Jack Swan Awards

Smiths Arms
The Smiths on Samlet Road is a great place for a post-work pint. Why not stand or sit at the bar and chat to locals and end up being challenged to a game of pool or two?

Queens Hotel
Very worthy winners of this award in 2016 and will be hard to beat this time round. Busy but rarely frantic whenever open, homecooked food and real ales make this a truly fantastic local.

The Other Place
Andy and Andrea have made the Other Place into a genuine local and a real contender for this award. The after-work crowd make the place both lively and friendly with their banter and the usual pub games.

Pink Geranium
Where else could a local bring in an unexploded WWII bomb to be used as a door stop? Unique, renowned, the Pink Geranium is everything but boring. A place you must experience!

Village Inn Killay
Perfectly situated for any local, right in the heart of Killay, making it impossible to give into temptation. A great beer, coffee and welcome await!

Bonymaen Inn
A proper pub with proper Swansea locals, the Bonymaen Inn is always worth a visit. Whether a mid-day drink watching the races or a 6 nations session, this place is what pubs are about.

Morriston Workingmans Club
A venue where people travel to visit but it’s the locals that keep this place ticking. Snooker, pool, darts or live entertainment, the locals support the venue and it works both ways.

JK’s
Narrowly missing out on the 2016 award, JK’s can often be missed when driving past but it’s a real gem when you find it. They have mastered the art of creating an intimate local vibe into a large, spacious venue.

Maltsters Arms
A real Swansea local this one. Pop in for a pint and be brave and get on the pool table, some great players there and it is this way that you will get to know its brilliant locals.

Masons Arms
A great local is at the heart of the community and it is the Masons Arms which makes Waunarlwydd. Incredibly friendly, drop in for a post-work pint and instantly feel involved in discussions putting the world (or the Swans) to right.

Voting will open next month with the winner being announced on our Jack Swan Awards night on Sunday 4th June at the Liberty Stadium.
