Swans fans to clap on 5 minutes for incredibly brave Sunderland fan

It may be Swansea and Sunderlands biggest game of the season and although both teams may be struggling on the pitch, when the game reaches 5 minutes I expect we will see both sets of fans at their very best.

5 year old Sunderland fan Bradley Lowery has united football clubs up and down the country with rival fans singing his name at the Stadium of Light, Everton donating £200,000 to his fund and this weekend will see arch rivals Newcastle putting rivalry aside to give a minutes applause 5 minutes into their game against Birmingham.

Doctors have told the family that his cancer is terminal – and now they face a devastating decision:
“First option is to take him home and stop all treatment this would only give us two months. Bradley’s consultant said if it was him he would do this.

“The second option is to give Bradley some oral chemo which is weak on the bloods. This is a palliative care option and he doesn’t think it will do anything but he said we could try.

“The third option is that he is willing to give a antibody and chemo combination that I was looking to go to America for if we can fund the drugs, which is obviously not a problem. However he believes if we do that we could lose Bradley through treatment and we will be in hospital for at least two months.”

As a parent, it is a terrifying and unthinkable decision and my heart goes out to Bradley and his family. Come on Liberty stadium, do us proud and stand up, unite and applaud this brave boy and send love from Wales to their family.
